black and white is great for althoughing emotion and expression to comethrough - but i sometimes struggle to see how it can be applied to building shots - especially if there is a lot more in the way of colours available in shopping centres

To be honest there wasnt a lot of colour going on here anyway.
I am a big fan of b&w full stop, so tend to do most of my pictures in B&W but I do understand your point. This picture wasnt really about conveying a feeling or emotion but more the lines and reflections I saw, which I thought looked better in a more simplistic manner - hence the black and white. Unfortunately the catagories on DA still dont cater for some aspects of photography, this isnt telling a story or expressing an opinion, its an observation.
